Sustainable Business Network (SBN) Climate Change for Business Workshop

Sustainable September saw the Kāpiti Coast District Council host a series of sustainability, community and climate action workshops, including the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) sharing expert insights on ‘Taking Action on Climate Change for your business’.

The SBN workshop was attended by over ten businesses and included interactive presentations from local businesses Dark Horse Coffee, The Bond Store, Cuttriss Consultants and Electra. All shared how they approached sustainable initiatives to reduce their own carbon footprints and key business learnings.

SBN Programme Manager Climate, Kimberley Savill, shared how simple the SBN Climate Action Toolbox was to start creating a plan.

“The Climate Action Toolbox is a free, easy-to-use tool that shows you how to measure and reduce your emissions. Designed for smaller businesses, it may also be helpful to larger businesses starting out.”

The businesses attending were provided with a climate action worksheet to set out a main motivation to act and priority areas to implement a climate action plan. Attendees supported each other to identify the most relevant actions for their own businesses.
